CacaoTracker – Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how CacaoTracker ("the app", "we", "our") handles your data.

Summary

As of the date above, CacaoTracker is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not operate any servers that collect, store, or process your personal data. Everything you enter in the app stays on your iPhone unless you choose to back it up via your own iCloud account (Apple's service, not ours).

If this ever changes — for example, if we introduce an optional account-based backup or sync feature — this policy will be updated first, the "Last updated" date above will change, and the App Store's privacy label for CacaoTracker will be updated to match before that feature ships.

What data the app processes

To provide its core features, CacaoTracker processes the following data, all stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:

• Item information: names, descriptions, and due dates of items you lend
• Photos: images you choose to attach to an item, either from your Photos library or captured with your camera
• Borrower information: first and last names of people you lend items to
• Lending history: dates items were lent and returned

None of this data is transmitted to us or to any third party by CacaoTracker.

Permissions we request

• Photo Library access: used only to let you attach a picture to an item. Photos are copied into the app's local storage at the resolution needed for display; the app does not scan, upload, or share your photo library.
• Camera access: used only to let you take a new photo directly for an item. Photos taken this way are stored the same way as photos chosen from your library — locally on your device.
• Notifications: used to remind you when a lent item is due back. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification framework; no data leaves your device to generate them.

Data storage and security

All data is stored locally in the app's private storage container, protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing and, where applicable, your device's passcode/biometric lock. We do not have access to this data and cannot retrieve it if your device is lost, reset, or the app is deleted.

If you use Apple's iCloud backup or iCloud device sync, your data may be included in that backup under Apple's own privacy terms — this is governed by Apple's policies, not ours.

Third parties

CacaoTracker does not currently integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated to name the service and explain what data is shared with it, and the update will be reflected in the App Store's privacy label.

Your rights

Because all data lives on your device, you are always in full control of it:

• Access & correction: view and edit any item, photo, or borrower directly in the app at any time.
• Deletion: delete individual items/people in the app, or remove all data at once by deleting the app.
• There is no account or server-side copy for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf.

Children's privacy

CacaoTracker is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy (e.g. adding a new feature that changes what data is processed, such as an optional backup/sync service), we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
